This itinerary brings you to Uganda’s less-visited north, ending in the stunning Kidepo National Park. Kidepo was once off-limits to visitors, and it now remains beautifully peaceful and unspoiled. The park shares the same scenery and wildlife as its East African neighbors, South Sudan and northern Kenya. Experience the vast open plains and excellent nature that rivals Africa’s finest parks, but with just a few other visitors.

Expect to see large herds of buffalo and antelope, elephant, zebra, and giraffe, as well as many carnivores – this is Uganda’s only park where cheetah, lion, and leopard coexist. Working your way north, stop in Semuliki in the far west of the country, which has beautiful savannah, primate-filled forests, and excellent chances of seeing shoebill storks on the banks of Lake Albert.

Then go chimp trekking in Kibale before heading to Murchison Falls National Park to see more wildlife against the backdrop of the Nile and spectacular waterfalls.
