About Kampala<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Kampala is the capital city of Uganda, by which it is meant that it\u2019s the seat of government offices. It\u2019s also the most industrialist city in the country. During the colonial era, Kampala was chosen as the locale for the headquarter for the Imperial British East Africa Company by Frederick Lugard in 1890. The Company was chartered at that time by the British government to govern Uganda as its protectorate (not yet a colony) on its behalf. Lugard thus established a Fort\u00a0 at what\u2019s now \u201cOld Kampala\u201d. Lugard\u2019s Fort remained the colonial administrative headquarters until 1905, when it was moved to Entebbe. In 1962 Kampala became the capital of independent Uganda. Parliamentary and commercial buildings, industry, and residential areas are separated into sectors.<\/p>

Kampala has several historical and national landmarks the Uganda Museum. The city is home to several mosques (including the white Kibuli Mosque), Hindu temples, and Cathedrals, including Namirembe (Anglican) Cathedral, Rubaga (catholic) Cathedral, and the Miracle Centre (glass) Cathedral (under the prelacy of evangelical pastor, Robert Kayanja), among others.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Kampala has some of the most exciting tourist attractions in the world, arguably. It has the National Museum, the oldest in the entire East African Region (established in 1908), is 3km from the heart of Kampala city. The museum contains a collection of royal regalia for local traditional chiefdoms, traditional music instruments and archaeological artifacts related to Uganda\u2019s cultures, legends, and traditions.
